Caravaggio's Mary Magdalen in Ecstasy, the original

"Finally, it's her!", the original Mary Magdalen in Ecstasy, by Michelangelo Merisi, best known as Caravaggio, disappeared in 1610 and was found again in 2015. Mina Gregori, an Italian art historian and Caravaggio specialist certified the painting's authenticity.

The painting has been transported to Japan and shown for the first time at the National Museum of Western Art of Tokyo, between the first of March and the 12th of June 2019. It was then transported to Europe and shown in Paris, at the exhibition Caravage à Rome, amis et ennemis, at the Jacquemart André museum from the 21st of September 2018 to the 28th of January 2019.
